We’ve combined our strengths, and the Ankyra brand is finally stepping into the light!

My name is Lucia Talajová, and together with Funda, we have created Ankyra Handmade — a brand whose purpose is not only to offer an aesthetic experience but also to invite customers to discover and appreciate the uniqueness of history.

Behind our brand are people with over 30 years of experience in handmade techniques and traditional design — alongside passionate individuals whose love for history led them to study it for years at university and who continue to do so even today. We are a newly established family brand with a mission to deliver not only quality and beauty but also to infuse our products with something truly unique — a deep story behind every pattern. The motifs you see might once have adorned the people of ancient Babylon or Assyria or carried hope for the Celts in stormy times.  The historical value of our products lies not only in their patterns but also in the techniques — some with traditions spanning centuries, even thousands of years. 

At Ankyra Handmade, we blend history with contemporary design. We are dedicated to crafting a variety of women’s products such as handbags, earrings, bracelets, scarves, and necklaces, with plans to expand our collection over time, possibly including men’s items as well. Our skilled artisans come from Turkey, and occasionally Lucia contributes her own small creations.

We prioritize thoughtful production over mass manufacturing, believing that true quality shines when each product is made with care and attention to detail, making every item one of a kind. All our products are made entirely by hand; we don’t use any machines. Our hands are continuously working just for you, fueled by your satisfaction and happiness.

Members of our team have many years of experience exploring different cultures through travel — meeting locals, attending traditional events, and engaging in open, heartfelt conversations. Observing, listening, and asking questions has brought them joy — and now, they’re happy to share that knowledge with you. 

Our goal is to present history in a way that’s alive, beautiful, and meaningful — even for those who once thought it was the dullest subject of all.
